i-smell coffee at Blackbird Coffee and Vintage – Utrecht
It’s a nice small espresso-bar in an old dutch style building. They combine the bar with a vintage shop.
Let’s talk first about the coffee. Het koffielab is the coffee beans they use. Today I try coffee from Nicaragua, namely Nicaragua El Bosque, which has the taste of mango and blackberry. This is what the barista suggested me to try with a slow coffee brewing. On my review, it tastes light, fruity, sweet, a bit chocolate after taste. The coffee served with a small stroopwaffel.

Besides filter koffie, from a vivian coffee machine they serve also espresso, macchiato, latte, latte machiato, and surprisingly.. they have americano! I didn’t try the other coffee, for a good excuse to come back again .Tea, food for your breakfast (ontbijt), cakes and something savory (hartig) are also on the menu.
Now, I would like to describe the place.. The atmosphere is friendly n cozy. Soft music – soul music (I hope this is the right type of the music.. ) and tungsten lamp create a warm feeling. It’s a kind of your own home with many different models of furniture. They combine the ecletic style in a retro-era. There are some vintage things for sale, some books that you can get it for free, and bicycle!
A small exhibitions are on one side of the wall; at this moment they had a painter with his postcard-size of pictures.
Blackbird Coffee and Vintage still has a basement room as their display for the bicycle collections.
I was quite surprise as there were some people inside, when I arrived. As it was 2.10pm! And here is the Netherlands.
